FAQs

How do I get a piece of custom artwork from you for a birthday/holiday gift/etc or a mural or other work for my business?

I love working with clients directly to come up with custom artwork for their space! Whether large or small canvas art, menu boards, signboards, murals, and so on, I have you covered. Please email me directly at lindsey@lindseyscraftstudio.com to request pricing and sample photos of my work (although many of those same samples can be found by scrolling my Instagram or my Facebook page). I do my best to work within your individual budget for your item. Most canvas paintings begin at $100 in pricing, while most murals and window art begin at $200-300, and signboards range from $50+ depending on surface area and if you will need seasonal repainting.

For COSTUME COMMISSIONS, please be aware that any alterations or construction consultations must take place prior to October each year. If you are in any location other than CT, USA, you will not be able to have an in-person consultation and any errors in sizing are fully the result of your communicated measurements. I have no last-minute stock on hand; everything I make is by hand and from scratch, so allow at least four months for construction (this means contacting me prior to July if you wish to be considered for my commissions queue for Halloween each year). As each piece I make is unique, slight differences in materials may be used to accomplish an impressive end product that you will love. Please allow for these custom design exceptions as you go through the process of designing your dream costume with me.

How do I plan an event with you at my restaurant, business, or rental space?

Use the contact form on my website to send me some information about what you’re interested in hosting, where you are located, and how to contact you. Pricing varies depending on craft and supplies needed to create it. After we decide on an event and a date, if you are a business, I will create an Eventbrite event or a Facebook event depending on your needs, and you can begin advertising to your customers. If you are a private event I can create a private shop page on my website and you can share the purchase link with your customers for easy ticket sales (this option is great for parties, bachelorette events, general get-togethers and fundraisers).

If you are a library or other non-profit organization, I am offering a special rate of only $75 per Zoom event. The number of attendees is unlimited, which is great for statistics! I do not include supplies for the discounted Public Library rate. Supply kits can be purchased by contacting me.

At this time, Lindsey’s Craft Studio cannot travel out of the state of Connecticut and will be giving preference to large, open, outdoor event venues for safety reasons. This is subject to change based on seasonal availability. Indoor venues will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Do you live outside of Connecticut? I can still work with you! Contact me to get started.

Do you offer private parties and events?

Lindsey’s Craft Studio is now offering in-person private events on a case-by-case basis. Use the contact form to let me know what you are interested in hosting, and I’ll be in touch to get some photos of your event space and decide if it is a good fit for an event of that nature. In the event that you do not have enough space or the right setup for the type of event or amount of guests that you wish to host, a Private Zoom Party may be a better fit. In-person events start at $150, with a $50 non-refundable deposit required to reserve your space, remainder paid at event. Price per person varies depending on craft and needed supplies, but most events range from $15-35 per person.

Good news! At this time there is only a 10 PERSON MINIMUM for all events, either in-person or online! Small events welcome at this time.

Private Zoom Parties

Take a look through the gallery and find a class you’re interested in doing with your friends and family, whether it’s for a birthday, girls’ night in, or other socially distant get-together. Use the contact form on this site to message me and let me know what you’re interested in, and how to contact you.

Parties last 1-1.5 hours depending on craft; once the class concludes and I exit the Zoom call, you can all continue to hang out in the Zoom chat for as long as you want to! Pricing is based on the number of attendees and what type of supply kits you need shipped to you. Base price for just the instruction and no supplies at all is $75. I suggest choosing three dates that will work for your group, and I will let you know which of those dates also works for me, and put you in my book. I require a $50 non-refundable deposit to reserve your party on the date you request. Remainder will be due two weeks prior to the date of the event.

How do I purchase an Online Class?

Purchasing an online class is fast and easy! Visit my gallery of craft classes and select a tutorial you’re interested in. Enter your credit card information and process your payment. Be sure to include a working email address with your purchase, as this is how the link to your tutorial will be emailed to you. Allow 24 hours for your tutorial email to come through, although it will usually be much faster.

Before starting your tutorial, it’s a good idea to setup your workspace according to our Suggested Materials guide.

What do I need to craft along at home with you? Are there any suggested materials that you recommend I have on hand before I begin?

Click HERE for Suggested Materials for painting classes; other tutorials for different types of crafts will have suggestions at the beginning of the video.

Do I need any previous experience with painting or crafting to take your online classes?

Absolutely not! Even if you’ve never painted before, or haven’t held a paintbrush since you were in school, it’s easy to follow along with my tutorials. I break down each activity into simple steps that even a beginner can handle.

Some paintings and activities are better if you’ve had some practice, and these will say “intermediate” in the description for the tutorial. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try them! It just means you might need extra patience and to pause the video frequently and take your time with the steps. The suggested age range is also just a guideline; while I recommend my tutorials for those ages 12 and up, I started painting at 9 years old… every person is different! Try a few to see what works for you.
